Never have contact lenses been so technologically advanced!

At Lifetime Eyecare our goal is to provide our patients with the most technologically advanced contact lens care using a full range of the most up-to-date contact lenses to ensure you experience the clearest, most comfortable contact lens wear. In fact, we are so confident that you will like your contact lenses that we offer a Guaranteed Contact Lens Success Program.

Don't be misled to believe that contact lenses can be purchased off the shelf like a pair of sunglasses! It takes careful evaluation and trial contact lens fittings to insure that you receive lenses that will keep your eyes healthy and seeing clearly and feel comfortable. Often symptoms that contact lens wearers experience can be alleviated by careful fitting and follow-up care. At Lifetime Eyecare your examination and all follow up visits will be conducted by an optometrist who has years of training and experience in contact lens fitting and problem solving to make certain that your result is the best it can possibly be.

Your initial contact lens examination will include:

  • Consultation
  • Measurement and evaluation of the eyes
  • Diagnostic fitting of lenses to make certain that you will be able to wear contact lenses successfully and to determine the type and design of lens that will work best for your eyes

With modern technology, individuals with almost any kind of eyeglass prescription can see clearly and comfortably with contact lenses. Here's why it makes sense to consider Lifetime Eyecare if you are thinking about contact lenses:

  • Our doctor have had years of experience and advanced training in fitting even the most difficult cases. He continues to attend courses to stay current in the latest contact lens technology and methods.
    We use:

Often, people that have been told previously that they could not wear contact lenses have been fit successfully in our office.

  • We use contact lenses from many different laboratories to give us a greater choice in selecting the right lens for your eyes. Because of the large number of contacts we prescribe, we maintain a large inventory of trial lenses. This means that many people are able to take their lenses home the same day they are fit.
We use lenses from manufacturers including:
    • Acuvue (Vistakon)
    • CibaVision
    • Bausch and Lomb
    • Cooper Vision

We realize that contact lenses can be purchased anywhere, but at Lifetime Eyecare, we take special pride in providing a thorough examination and contact lens evaluation, design and fitting to determine which of the many lens types will suit both the your visual and lifestyle needs.

  • Digital Corneal Shape Mapping
Corneal Topography allows us to precisely map the corneal shape and is an important part of contact lens design. We take topographic images on every contact lens patient to be certain the existing lenses are not distorting the cornea.
  • Contact Lens Evaluation, Design and Fitting
To enjoy contact lenses to the fullest, it's important to evaluate the physical characteristics of the eye and surrounding structures along with personal your visual needs. It all starts with a complete eye examination. Additional testing includes the evaluation of the lid anatomy and function, the structure and function of the lashes, conjunctiva and corneal, and an evaluation of the tear film of the eye. The topography of the cornea is evaluated with the keratometer and if necessary a corneal topographer.
  • Contact Lens Care and Handling
The first rule of successful contact lens wear is to follow the proper contact lens directions. When you get your contact lenses a staff member will teach you all about cleaning, disinfecting, storing and replacing your lenses according to the prescribed schedule. While this may sound complicated at first, they are simple processes and very easy to learn. Plus, there are many multi-purpose contact lens solutions that clean and disinfect in one step. The key is to get in the habit of caring for your lenses conscientiously.
  • Gas Permeable Contact Lens Fittings
The advanced corneal mapping with our digital corneal topographer makes it possible to custom design your GP lenses to fit your eye exactly. GP lenses are excellent for people with scarred, warped or irregular corneas or those with astigmatism. They work especially well for those needing bifocals.
  • Contact Lens Wearing Problems
Contact lenses provide an excellent alternative to glasses for correcting vision problems and the technology of contact lenses continues to improve. However, contact lens use is not without risk, and the potential for vision threatening problems is present, especially in those who abuse the use of contacts.
